Frame is built to organize your life, not monetize it. No ads. No data selling. Here is exactly what we collect and why.
Effective March 11, 2026
01 — What we collect
Only what's needed to run Frame
Account information
Your email address and password (hashed — we never store it in plain text). This is required to create and secure your account.
Content you create
Collections, items, metadata, images, documents, notes, tags, valuations, and any other data you add to Frame. This is the core of the service — we store it so you can access, search, and export it.
Payment information
Payments are processed by our payment provider. We receive your billing status and the last four digits of your card for display purposes. We never see or store your full card number.
Usage data
Basic analytics — pages visited, features used, device type, and browser. We use this to understand how Frame is used and where to improve it. We do not track you across other websites.
02 — How we use your data
To provide the service. That's it.
We use your data to:
- — Operate and maintain your Frame account
- — Store, display, and let you search your collections
- — Process images through AI for data extraction
- — Generate exports (PDF, CSV) when you request them
- — Send you account-related emails (billing, security, updates)
- — Improve Frame based on aggregate usage patterns
We do not sell your data. We do not show you ads. We do not share your content with third parties for marketing purposes.
03 — AI & image processing
How AI extraction works
When you upload an image for AI-assisted data entry, the image is sent to a third-party AI provider to extract item details like make, model, serial number, and estimated value.
Images sent for AI processing are used solely for extraction and are not retained by the AI provider after processing is complete. Your images are not used to train AI models.
The original images you upload are stored securely in your Frame account and remain under your control.
04 — Third-party services
Services we use to run Frame
Frame relies on a small number of third-party services:
- — Cloud hosting for infrastructure and data storage
- — Payment processing for subscription billing
- — AI provider for image-based data extraction
- — Analytics for aggregate usage data
Each provider is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements. We choose providers with strong privacy practices and do not share more data than necessary for each service to function.
05 — Security
Your data is encrypted and protected
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed and salted — we cannot read them. Uploaded files are stored in isolated, access-controlled storage.
We follow industry-standard security practices including regular backups, access controls, and monitoring. While no system is perfectly immune to breach, we take the security of your data seriously — especially given the sensitive nature of what people store in Frame.
06 — Sharing
You control what's shared
Frame offers view-only sharing links for collections. When you create a sharing link, anyone with the link can view the collection data you have chosen to share. They cannot edit, delete, or access anything beyond that specific shared view.
You can revoke sharing links at any time. No data is shared unless you explicitly create a link.
07 — Retention & deletion
Your data, your decision
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your data remains accessible in read-only mode so you can export it.
If you delete your account, we permanently remove all your data — collections, items, images, and documents — within 30 days. Backups containing your data are purged within 90 days.
You can export all of your data at any time using Frame's built-in export tools before deleting your account.
08 — Cookies
Minimal cookies, no tracking
Frame uses essential cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your preferences. We use basic analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage.
We do not use advertising cookies, remarketing pixels, or cross-site tracking of any kind. Frame does not participate in ad networks.
09 — Your rights
Access, export, correct, delete
You have the right to:
- — Access all data stored in your account
- — Export your data in PDF or CSV format at any time
- — Correct any information in your account
- — Delete your account and all associated data
- — Object to processing of your data for non-essential purposes
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@getframe.co. We respond to all requests within 30 days.
10 — Changes
We may update this policy
If we make material changes to how we handle your data, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Minor clarifications or formatting changes may be made without notice.
